Beyond the Stage

WeBop with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

Saturdays, Jan 30 - Mar 20 / 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM PT / Zoom (Online)

WeBop is Jazz at Lincoln Center's award-winning, early-childhood jazz education program for little ones and their parents/caregivers. We strongly believe in children's natural ability to improvise and we are committed to exploring their creativity through fun interactive classes! This 8-class series is for students ages 3-5 years old.

Virtual Interactive WeBop Classes Offer:

  • 8 - 45-minute interactive classes (via Zoom) delivered weekly, Saturdays at 9:30 am PT beginning Jan 30 and ending Mar 20.
  • A curriculum that combines early-childhood development practices and jazz pedagogy to provide musically authentic experiences.
  • Weekly classes led by a WeBop teacher, supported by an accompanist on the piano. Additional guest jazz musicians visit twice per term.
  • Swingin' renditions of your favorite nursery songs.
  • Intimate class sizes, allowing for direct interaction with your instructor and building a sense of community with fellow families.
  • Music integrated into each class.
  • Specific music curriculum and engaging activities designed for each age group.
  • An opportunity for children and grownups to bond and express themselves together through movement, singing, clapping, and playing small percussion instruments.
