“[A] uniquely Angeleno mishmash of punk, hip-hop, beat music, cumbia and rock... Live, they’re magnetic.” Los Angeles Times

“One of the leading bands in the vibrant Chicano roots scene” (Boston Globe), Las Cafeteras has gained worldwide acclaim for their joyous blending of folkloric son jarocho music, hip hop, rock and rancheras with zapateado dance and incisive social consciousness. Using music to build bridges between cultures and communities, the East Los Angeles band has taken the music scene by storm and performed with artists from Lila Downs, Juanes and Ozomatli to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Talib Kweli.

Presented in association with
UCSB Student Engagement & Leadership
