Season FAQs

Health & Safety

As we return to theaters and live events, the well-being of our students, patrons, artists, staff members and community is paramount. Protocols for attending in-person events will be developed in conjunction with evolving state, local and university health guidelines, and we appreciate your flexibility as these are updated over the course of the season.

Protocols for Attending A&L Events

Updated 9/2/2021

Please check this page regularly for updates, and make sure your current email address is on file with the A&L Ticket Office for important communications.

  • Proof of full vaccination is required. "Full vaccination" means a final COVID-19 vaccine dose was administered at least 14 days prior to the event. Approved vaccine verification documentation will be required for entry, along with official photo ID. Please check back for details on accepted forms of vaccination verification. (If you have questions about attending with a child under age 12, please contact the A&L Ticket Office to discuss options. Most events include an at-home viewing option with purchase.)
  • Masks are required in indoor spaces at all times. Patrons must bring and wear their own face coverings that fully cover both the nose and mouth. Bandanas, gaiters and masks with external valves are not permitted. Face shields alone are not adequate protection. Mask wearing is also strongly encouraged at outdoor venues.

At-home Options

Last season, virtual events were an essential way to stay connected. Going forward, we envision at-home viewing options as a complement to – but not a replacement for – the in-person experience. To that end, many 2021-2022 events will include a live streaming alternative (available with regular ticket purchase; details to come).

Flexible Returns & Exchanges

With changing public health guidelines, we want to make buying tickets as easy as possible and provide you with the certainty that your investment in Arts & Lectures is one we take seriously. We’ll continue to offer flexible ticket returns and exchanges for the 2021-2022 season.

UC Santa Barbara Parking Update

A permit is required to park on campus. Parking permits are no longer available for purchase from the A&L Ticket Office following recent upgrades by UCSB Transportation & Parking Services. Permit kiosks are available in all campus parking lots. Purchase a short-term permit on arrival using your license plate number. Note: Not all parking lots are open for visitor parking. Visit the Transportation & Parking Services website for more information.
